FAQ
What counts as a "custom domain"?
Any FQDN you register via the API or portal. Subdomains of a single apex count individually. Wildcard hostnames (coming soon) count as one.
What happens if I exceed my plan's limit?
New registrations return a 402. Existing domains keep serving traffic. Upgrade in the portal or email us — we'll never break your customers.
Do you count cert re-issuance against Let's Encrypt limits?
Per-customer domain, not per-Hee-account. Your 50-cert/week limit is on your customer's registered domain. We won't hit it at reasonable scale.
Can I self-host the edge instead?
Yes. The edge (Caddy + control plane) is open source. Use Hee as SaaS for convenience, or run the same binaries on your own box when scale or compliance demands it.
Is there a usage-based tier above Scale?
Yes — Enterprise is custom. Typical deals: dedicated edge pool, €X per domain/mo above a commit, pooled SLA credits. Email sales@hee.la.
